Reading “We” by Yevgeny Zamyatin spoke to me so strongly that it instantly became one of my favorite all-time reads. I loved the conflict of math and expression/art, of the rational and the irrational. That conflict speaks to who I am in this world and my own internal conflicts, both today and in 1997 when I first read the book.

Here I drew the cover of the book, just the face, not an exact replica. If you know the story, the math at the bottom makes sense. If not, just think of the square root of negative one as imaginary and irrational, and think of 2+2 as rational. Below is the book cover I drew from:
